Cryptanthus zonatus is a terresrrial bromeliad from the Bromeliaceae family. This unusual plant is commonly known by the names Earth Star, Zebra Plant and Star Fish Plant. It produces flat, irregularly-shaped rosettes up to about 30cm in diameter. Wide, strap-shaped leaves are produced from a central rosette, they are dark green and wavy-edged with striped silver-white and purple banding.
