Precautions to take while re-potting live plants
Re-potting live plants is essential for their healthy growth and development. However, there are a few precautions that one must consider before starting the process.
First and foremost, it is important to choose the right pot size for the plant. The pot should be slightly larger than the current one, allowing enough space for the plant's roots to grow.
Secondly, one must ensure that the soil used is appropriate for the plant's needs. Different plants require different soil types, so it's crucial to research and select the right soil.
Another vital precaution to take is to avoid re-potting during the plant's dormant period, as it may cause stress to the plant and hinder its growth.
Additionally, one must be gentle while handling the plant and take care not to damage its roots. It's also a good practice to water the plant a day or two before re-potting to make the soil easier to work with.
Lastly, it's essential to monitor the plant's progress after re-potting and make sure it receives adequate sunlight(direct or indirect) and watering.
